Lesson Plan/Activity

Build a Wire Maze Ages: 7-12

Keywords

To learn about application of electrical engineering, this lesson requires the students to build a game similar to Operation. An open circuit is created. One end is a wire maze made of a bare wire. The other end is a loop of bare wire attached to a popsicle stick. The object is to guide the loop through the maze without touching the wire. The circuit is designed such that when the wires touch, the circuit is completed and a lightbulb turns on, just like in Operation when the tweezers touch the metal frame.
