Why didn’t my RCX do what it was supposed to?

If your program did something very strange or highly unexpected and you are sure that your code is correct, you might have had an error while loading your program. Make sure that you didn't press the program button by accident and put the program into the wrong slot.  It is also possible, especially with lots of IR towers running, to download someone else's code while walking around the room.  In crowded rooms it is a good idea to cover the IR port of the RCX while not actively downloading a program.
