Yes, this is an issue with the current version of the software and the Windows XP SP3 (service pack 3). One workaround for this is to enter the following command in the Windows command prompt.
msiexec.exe <"Full path to LegoMindstormsNXTdriver32.msi">
Where "Full path to LegoMindstormsNXTdriver32.msi" will be replaced with the file path that points to the LegoMindstormsNXTdriver32.msi file. For example : "c:\NXTSoftware\drivers\LegoMindstormsNXTdriver32.msi"
