| I'm having problems installing the NXT drivers in Windows XP SP3. |

This problem is caused by one of the following two problems:
1. There is a bug so that the NXT driver cannot be installed separately in Windows XP SP3. It is only a problem if users want to update their driver alone, and not the entire NXT-G software package.
If this is the issue, it can be fixed by installing a fixed driver or by installing the entire LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT software package.
2. Another issue that occurs often is that the NXT driver failed to change a folder on the computer to be "writeable by all users" during installation. This problem does not show up during the installation, so users will only find out if this happened when they try to use the software and plug the NXT device into the computer. This failure often occurs during large-scale installs, such as school installs, due to the limitations of the large scale installation applications used by the IT staff performing an installation.
If this is the issue, it can be fixed by changing the folder located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\Shared Memory\ to be "writeable by all users".
