This seems to be an issue with the installer. If you already had Mindstorms NXT-G installed before you upgraded to Mac OS 10.6, everything should work fine.
The latest workaround is listed below:
This works for LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Software version 1.1 and 2.0, both EDU and Retail versions.
1. Copy all files from the MINDSTORMS CD to a folder on your desktop. 2. Open that folder and look under "Parts". 3. Locate the file called "MindstormsUnivEdu.pkg" (for the EDU version) or "MindstormsUnivRet.pkg" (for the Retail version). 4. Right-click the file and choose "Show Package Contents". 5. Navigate into the Contents/Resources directory and delete the "preflight" file. 6. Close this package and run the meta-package from the desktop (the big package) to install LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Software on your computer.
You can also do a workaround by:
1. Install LEGO Mindstorms NXT-G on a computer with Mac OS 10.5 or earlier. 2. Install LEGO Mindstorms NXT-G on the computer with Mac OS 10.6. 3. Copy the executable application file from the 10.5 machine to the 10.6 machine. (Assuming that is the only file missing on the new machine; if there are other files / folders missing on the 10.6 computer, copy them over from the old machine as well.)
The program should work now!
