Problem: ROBOLAB programs created on one computer will not open correctly on another machine.

Cause: ROBOLAB not installed.

Solution: Install ROBOLAB on the computer, and you should be able to open .vi program files without a problem.

Cause:
incompatible versions of ROBOLAB

Solution: Programs written in Robolab 2.5.4 are not directly compatible with earlier versions. This is because 2.5.4 is built on a Labview 7 chassis, while earlier versions of Robolab, like 2.5.3 and 2.5.2, are built on Labview 6. To check which version you are running, look in the About ROBOLAB window, found under the Help menu, in either investigator or inventor. If you are running 2.5.4 and wish to save to an earlier version, check the Save as Previous window, found under the File menu, for additional instructions.

In general, older programs will open in newer versions; however, you can't be sure that newer programs will run correctly in older versions.
