| When I use the LEGO camera, I have shadows across my images. What can I do to get rid of these? |
If you have a lot of dark spots in your image then it is a good idea to build some sort of enclosed structure for your light. This is so that it will be isolated from extraneous light.
Here is a picture of several Lego bricks with very bad shadows:

These are two pictures of the light box I built for the camera:


As a light source you can use anything that is handy, like a flashlight, as long as it is a consistent light source that you can adjust to get rid of the shadows.
Here is what the final image looked like:

The reason the end picture is superior is that the light box has cut out all of the shadows. This means that when running real time image processing (for example: a large green brick means go backwards to the left) it will be easier to get consistent results in vision center.
