Can I reprogram someone else’s RCX from mine?

One really great application of the reprogram command is to be able to load a program onto another RCX if the program is lost.  If, for example, everyone is using the same program, the instructor could have an RCX that has a program to load up the standard program onto everyone else's RCX.

In order to reprogram an RCX, two icons must be included in the program: start remote program and download remote program (both under the communications menu).  Everything between these two icons will be sent to the other RCX.  An important note here is that this program is not executed until the run button is pressed on the other RCX.  Attached below is an example program using these icons to reprogram another RCX.
