New Dr. E’s Challenges

It’s time for a new cycle of Dr. E’s Challenges. The October challenge, Sports Player, is a joint challenge of both Dr.E’s WeDo Challenges and Dr. E’s MINDSTORMS Challenges.

Sports Player: Goal! Touchdown! Home Run! Build a WeDo robot to play your favorite sport. A goalkeeper that blocks every shot? A robot that runs the bases? The sport and the robot are up to you. Game on!

Created by Professor Ethan Danahy of Tufts University, Dr. E’s WeDo Challenges and Dr. E’s MINDSTORMS Challenges encourage students to create solutions to open-ended problems using LEGO robotics.

During each cycle of Dr. E’s challenges, a new challenge is posed each month. Students work during the month to design an original project in response to the challenge, sharing their creation by posting photos and videos of their project. Everyone can vote for their favorite entry, with the winner being named that month’s fan favorite. Submissions come from students around the world; the two Dr. E’s sites have more than eleven hundred registered users from 55 countries.

Do you have a LEGO BOOST kit? The new BOOST platform can be used for both the WeDo and MINDSTORMS Challenges.
