The idea is to make a board that attaches to both an Arduino and EV3 and is able, via LabVIEW, to be an extension to the EV3.<\/p>\n<p>Some example projects that have been tested are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>using potentiometers to control EV3 motors,<\/li>\n<li>blinking lights when a light sensor registers above or below a predefined value, and<\/li>\n<li>automated plant watering robot that uses moisture sensors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The next steps include a redesign of the shield and the addition of further functionality. The shield is programmed in\u00a0LabVIEW using basic Arduino functions like read and write digital.<\/p>\n<p>The functions in\u00a0LabVIEW are translated to Botspeak and then are read by the VM (virtual machine) already pre-loaded onto the Arduino.\u00a0At the moment this project is\u00a0still being tested and improved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This summer at the CEEO, one project in progress has been an EV3 shield for Arduino Uno boards.
